LXDE Desktop Ported To Qt
On June 3, 2013 Hong Jen Yee announced a Qt port of the full LXDE suite.
The developers say that they have not stopped development on the GTK+ 2 version of LXDE, and the Qt version is currently a side project.
Being faced with an eventual transition from GTK+ 2, which is no longer being developed in the upstream project, rather than transitioning to GTK3, it appears they will be using Qt.
LXDE-Qt, as the port is called, is currently using Qt 4, but they intend to switch to Qt5 once the Qt 5.1 tool-kit is widely available within Linux distributions.
